Itinerary

Day 1
GUILIN | YANGSHUO

Your journey begins with your arrival in Guilin, where the stunning karst landscapes welcome you as you step off the plane. After gathering your belongings, we'll head straight to the charming town of Yangshuo, a short drive away. Nestled between dramatic limestone peaks and surrounded by lush countryside, Yangshuo is the perfect introduction to the natural beauty of the region.

Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your hotel and have some time to relax and explore the town at your own pace. As the evening approaches, you have the option to attend the Impression Sanjie Liu show – a spectacular performance set on the Li River. This optional experience (at your own expense) is highly recommended for those interested in capturing the fusion of natural scenery and cultural performance. The show, which uses the river and surrounding mountains as a stage, is a photographer's delight, offering stunning opportunities to capture the interplay of light, water, and human movement.

Afterward, or if you choose to spend the evening at leisure, you can return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 - 3
YANGSHUO

Over the next few days, we'll immerse ourselves in the captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Yangshuo and Xingping, central to our Guilin Photo Tour. We'll begin by exploring the ancient town of Xingping, nestled along the Li River. Known for its well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, Xingping offers a wealth of photographic opportunities with its narrow, winding streets, blue brick buildings, and intricate wood carvings, all set against a backdrop of stunning karst mountains.

A highlight of our time in Xingping will be photographing the traditional cormorant fishermen, who have practiced their unique fishing techniques for generations. As they work with their trained birds on bamboo rafts, especially during the soft light of sunset, you'll capture scenes reminiscent of ancient Chinese paintings—truly some of the most iconic images of the tour.

We'll also venture into the serene countryside of Yangshuo, where the rural landscape, dotted with rice paddies and water buffalo, offers endless subjects for your camera. Exploring the rural landscape, you'll be surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the region. A hike up Moon Hill will provide panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, offering another fantastic opportunity to enhance your landscape photography with the unique perspective this natural limestone arch provides.

Upon arrival, we'll check into a traditional guesthouse located within one of the hillside villages. After settling in, the afternoon will be spent exploring and photographing the terraces. Whether the fields are filled with water, lush with green rice, or golden and ready for harvest, the patterns created by the terraces are a photographer’s dream.

As the sun begins to set, the terraces take on a warm, golden glow. This is the perfect time to capture the landscape in its most magical light. Afterward, we'll return to our guesthouse for a traditional dinner, enjoying local specialties as we review the day’s photos and experiences.
