Sharing borders with Kazakstan, Russia and Mongolia, Northern Xinjiang is uniquely beautiful thanks to its geographical location. The Kanas Nature Reserve in particular boasts magnificent ecosystems formed by lakes, rivers, glaciers, forests and even grasslands, giving the entire area incredibly rich natural beauty. The Kanas Lake, located right in the middle of the reserve gets it water from melting glaciers, and when the sun hits the waters just right, shimmers like a pool of pearls. The spectacular scenery, pleasant weather and friendly nomads that call the grasslands home are just some of the reasons why we love visiting Xinjiang, and more importantly, why it is the latest addition to our photo tours!
