Serengeti Photo Tour – Wildebeest Calving Season, Tanzania

Arusha

Arusha, the vibrant gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, is nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. This bustling town offers a perfect mix of modern amenities and cultural experiences. Visitors can explore local markets, coffee plantations, and museums, providing a gentle introduction to the rich heritage and natural beauty of Tanzania. Arusha is also the starting point for your safari adventure, offering a peaceful retreat before and after your wildlife expeditions.

Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

Ndutu, located in the southern Serengeti, is the focal point for the wildebeest calving season. This region’s mix of woodlands and grasslands becomes a dynamic stage for one of nature’s most extraordinary events as thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles give birth. The area is also teeming with predators like lions and cheetahs, making it a prime spot for witnessing dramatic wildlife interactions. Photographers will find Ndutu’s landscapes and abundant wildlife offer endless opportunities for capturing the raw, untamed beauty of the Serengeti.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, offers a different safari experience from the Serengeti. The park’s varied terrain, including swamps, woodlands, and river valleys, supports diverse wildlife, including giraffes, buffalo, and a plethora of bird species. Tarangire’s quieter, more secluded atmosphere provides a tranquil backdrop for capturing intimate wildlife moments, making it a favorite among photographers seeking a more relaxed but equally rewarding safari experience.

UNUSUAL EXPEDITION’s trips are renowned for their ability to pack a wealth of content into just a few days. This Tanzania photo tour is no exception, offering diverse and richly thematic locations that adapt to daily weather and lighting conditions, ensuring you capture the best of what the Serengeti and Tarangire have to offer.
