Arctic Polar Bears Photo Tour – Svalbard
SVALBARD ARCTIC POLAR BEARS PHOTO TOUR
The Svalbard Islands are located in the Arctic Ocean, at the remote northern end of the world. The untouched arctic wilderness, breathtaking icy landscapes, beautiful fjords, and wonderful wildlife, are without doubt, a huge attraction to photographers. There are about 3000 polar bears in Svalbard. Besides polar bears, you will also see walruses, reindeer, arctic foxes, harp seals, minke and, occasionally, humpback whales.
UNUSUAL EXPEDITION’s trips are well known for accomplishing a lot in just a few days. We basically pack a lot of content with different themes in a single trip. This workshop will be no different. Locations shoots each day are dependant on daily weather and lighting conditions.

POLAR BEAR HUNTING
DAY 2 to DAY 9
We arise and leave for the cruise early in the morning. Over the next 5 days aboard the comfortable yacht, we will cruise around the archipelago in search of polar bears, walruses, seals and other wildlife.
Svalbard is the Arctic North of your imagination – an awesome archipelago of dramatic snow-drowned peaks and glaciers, vast icefields and towering icebergs. Here, the Arctic nights seem to stretch endlessly while the perpetual sun of the summer bathe the frozen lands in a beautiful light. One of Europe’s last great wilderness, this is a place where there are more polar bears than people.
Wildlife – four primarily terrestrial mammalian species inhabit the archipelago: the Arctic Fox, the Svalbard reindeer, polar bears and Southern Vole. There are fifteen to twenty types of marine mammals, including whales, dolphins, seals and walruses. Here, you will have the chance to view and photograph animals up close!
Exact photography locations will depend on weather conditions.
