NAMIBIA PHOTO TOUR
Day 1
Arrival at the Windhoek International Airport where you will be met by your English-speaking tour guide and transfer to town. First check in at the Hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour of Windhoek. Historic sites to visit are the “Christus Kirche” the “Alte Feste”, Reiterdenkmal & the Tintenpalast just to mentioned a few. The main street is a walk through by gone days and has a large variety of interesting stores, bookshops and craft markets. Rest of the day at leisure.

SOSSUSVLEI, NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE
Day 2
After breakfast we depart to Sossusvlei, 365 kilometres south-west of Windhoek (about 5.5 hours). Once you have checked into your lodge, the rest of the day is at your leisure until the late-afternoon nature drive sets out. Explore the unique Namib-Naukluft by 4×4 over the endless grassy plains and awe-inspiring mountain formations. Uncover the ancient hunting spots of the indigenous San people and spot the small and large animals of the desert. Feed your soul with the clear skies, desert plains and endless wilderness. Having been named Africa’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, it is one of the least light-polluted areas in the world, so don’t miss this excellent star gazing opportunity.

Day 3
Today you’ll make an early start to beat the Namibian heat. You’ll take a tour of the world famous Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, getting a chance to walk up and down a dune or two and take photographs. You’ll learn a bit about the wildlife that inhabits the dunes and how it has adapted to survive in this arid environment. The rest of the day is at your leisure, either to laze at the swimming pool with its vast vistas over the Namibian landscape, or to relax in your room. You could also explore the red sand dunes by quad bike (subject to availability only); Sossusvlei has some of the highest dunes in the world. The lodge has an observatory and resident astronomer who can help you unravel the mysteries of the Southern Hemisphere’s night skies.

SWAKOPMUND
Day 4
After breakfast we depart from Sossusvlei Desert Lodge via Solitaire, the Kuiseb Canyon and through the Namib Naukluft Park where you will be shown the ancient Welwitschia mirabilis. You will also view the moon landscape before proceeding to Swakopmund, The rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner at local Restaurant included.

Day 5
After breakfast, we leave for Walvis Bay. At 08h45 check in at Sandwich Harbour Office and we board a boat for a 3-hour boat trip. During this time, we will see and have the opportunity to observe the many seabird species. Seals and dolphins soon become a topic of conversation as they accompany the boat on its journey. The 4×4 vehicles and Guides will be waiting for you to take you to the Namib Desert for a Sandwich Harbour 4×4 Excursion to see the Saltpans, the Kuiseb River Delta, the Sandwich Harbour Area and – if weather and tides allow for it – the Sandwich Harbour Lagoon. Lunch will be served on the beach or in the dunes. We return to Walvis Bay and proceed to Swakopmund.

TWYFELFONTEIN
Day 6
Depart Swakopmund and drive northwards along the coast past the lichen fields to Henties Bay and onward to Cape cross where we visit the Seal Colony. After the visit we return to Henties Bay and onward to Uis and your night’s accommodation at the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge.

SESFONTEIN
Day 7
After breakfast we depart we view the Twyfelfontein rock paintings and rock engravings. Continue from here to your night’s accommodation at the Khowarib Lodge. In the afternoon we join a Himba Excursion offered by the lodge.

HIMBA TRIBE
Day 8
In the morning, unforgettable visit to the Himba village, learning about their nomadic way of life. Unique opportunity to observe exotic culture and customs. The Himba are a tribe of semi-nomadic pastoralis, who inhabit the Kaokoland, in northern Namibia. They have clung to their traditions, and the beautiful Himba women are noted for their orange-colored skin, intricate hairstyles and traditional jewelry. Himba men and women wear few clothes, apart from a loin cloth or goat-skin mini-skirt, they rub their bodies with mixture of red ochre and animal fat to protect themselves against sun, insects and to condition their skin. It gives Himba’s skin characteristic rich, red color. Himba jewelry is made from iron, animal skin or shell, and due to the intricate designs, have become very popular among the visiting tourists. Visit at the Himba village creates superb opportunity for spectacular ethnic photography! Departure from the Lodge, and check in to another private reserve where we do a close up cheetah photography.

ERINDI
Day 9
After breakfast we travel to the National Park. Full day game drives to explore Private Game Reserve. Instead of joining a normal game drive, we will use a telemetry qualified guide who tracks tagged animals for the other game drives to view. Less time is spent looking at the diversity of species & more time is aimed at reaching high points to look for larger tagged species. Tagged animals including lion, elephant, cheetah, pangolin, serval, honey‐badger, brown & spotted hyena and others.

CWI CWI TRIBE
Day 10
The “Bushmen”. these people live solely off the land and the Cwi Cwi families at Erindi still follow their disappearing traditions. We will visit their village and be part of their every day cultures & traditions. Overnight at Lodge.

WINDHOEK
Day 11
Departure from the Lodge via Outjo, Otjiwarongo and Okahandja to Windhoek. Arrival in the afternoon at your nights’ accommodation in the Hilton Hotel.

Day 12
Transfer to Windhoek International Airport for your flight departure from Namibia. End of our Namibia Photo Tour.
