The Torres Del Paine National Park encompasses mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers. It is one of the 11 protected areas of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica. This bountiful park has spectacular scenery. It is also rich in both flora and fauna. The views here are even better during sunrise and sunsets! Torres Del Paine is every photographer’s dream destination. It has a vast and majestic landscape. That’s why most people consider this as the most spectacular national park in Patagonia. During our Patagonia Photo tour, we will spend five days in this location to enjoy the photo-taking experience. Aside from that, there are other activities in this scenic landscape that you can enjoy.
Wildlife Exploration in Torres Del Paine
Here, we will rise early in the morning to capture the stunning sunrise. It bathes the mountains in a golden glow. The waterfalls will look like a cascading blanket of diamonds. Daily activities in this Patagonia Photo Tour include tracking to photograph the pumas and other animals that inhabit the area. You will also have the chance to spot foxes, guanacos, black-chested buzzard-eagle, and the Magellanic horned owl. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Chilean flamingo, the Andean condor, and black-necked swans too. These are just some of the wild animals you will witness. You will surely get to see more through this Patagonia Photo Tour.
Another highlight of the park is the ‘baqueano,’ which loosely translates to ‘cowboy.’ It describes a person born in the countryside and works on ranches. These people are really close to their horses in a deeply rooted culture that goes back to the late 19th century. Today, they maintain their customary way of life mostly by leading horseback riding tours in Patagonia. Hence, they are called pathfinders. Having said that, horseback riding is one of the activities that you can enjoy here. You will also see and capture them in action as we visit their stables. You can also see them while they are out in the open mounted on horseback.
Finally, our Patagonia Photo Tour will take you to a cruise to pay a visit to Lago Grey. This is located in the Los Glaciares National Park. It is named after the explorer Francisco Moreno. This is one of the tourist attractions in Patagonia. It is also one of the 48 glaciers by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in the Andes system shared with Chile. This ice field also happens to be the world’s third-largest reserve of freshwater. If time and weather permits, we might do a mini-trek to the glacier itself. So, get your camera ready for some once-in-a-lifetime shots!
