The autumn landscapes of Inner Mongolia welcome you with endless golden steppes glowing under soft sunlight—your first breathtaking glimpse of this remarkable season.

After checking in, take time to rest and prepare for the coming photography sessions. Dinner introduces you to hearty Mongolian cuisine, a perfect way to immerse in local culture and hospitality.

Day 2 - 5
INNER MONGOLIA | BASHANG AUTUMN LANDSCAPES

Over the next four days, you’ll be fully immersed in the magic of Bashang’s autumn landscapes, where golden grasslands, poplar forests, and nomadic culture provide endless opportunities for photographers.

Horse Photography Sessions: Start your mornings with dynamic shoots of Mongolian horses galloping across the Bashang grasslands. Their powerful movement, golden dust clouds, and the sunrise glow create iconic frames that define Inner Mongolia in autumn.

Camel Caravans in the Dunes: Capture Bactrian camels trekking gracefully across sand dunes lit by autumn skies. Their earthy tones blend perfectly with the golden steppe, offering timeless photographic compositions.

Cultural Portraits: Midday sessions focus on herders in traditional attire, photographed against the vibrant autumn backdrops of Inner Mongolia. These portraits reveal the heritage and strength of nomadic life.

Minimalist Autumn Landscapes: Discover the quieter side of Bashang—solitary trees glowing in amber light, rolling hills painted in red and gold, and winding tracks that tell the story of migration.

Atmospheric Details: From smoke rising above yurts to harvest scenes and saddles drying under the autumn sun, every detail adds richness to your storytelling. One evening, enjoy a fire performance or fireworks staged near a traditional yurt, offering spectacular long-exposure photography under Inner Mongolia’s expansive skies.

This balance of action, stillness, and cultural immersion ensures your autumn photo tour in Inner Mongolia produces a diverse and memorable portfolio.

Day 6
INNER MONGOLIA | CHENGDE

After several days of photographing the golden autumn landscapes of Inner Mongolia, the journey continues as we leave the Bashang grasslands and head toward Chengde. The drive itself is a transition from the wide-open steppes into rolling hills lined with forests glowing in amber, crimson, and gold. It is a chance to reflect on the incredible images captured in Inner Mongolia—galloping horses across dusty plains, camel caravans in warm light, and herders whose traditions remain unchanged for centuries.

Chengde offers an entirely different perspective for the photographer. Once the summer retreat of Qing emperors, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a city of heritage and refinement, where imperial palaces, lakeside gardens, and ornate temples replace the nomadic landscapes of Bashang. The afternoon is spent exploring and capturing the Mountain Resort of Chengde, an expansive imperial complex framed by colorful autumn trees, as well as the Buddhist temples that blend Han and Tibetan architectural traditions. Here, every detail, from the curvature of tiled rooftops to the reflection of pavilions on still water. It adds a cultural dimension to your growing portfolio.

Day 7
CHENGDE | GREAT WALL

From Chengde, the adventure continues toward one of the most iconic sites in China, the Great Wall. In autumn, the Great Wall transforms into a dreamlike subject for photography. The winding battlements stretch across ridges and valleys blanketed in seasonal colors, with forests glowing in fiery reds and golden yellows. Early morning mist often softens the watchtowers, lending them an ethereal presence, while the walls themselves seem to dissolve into the rolling hills that fade into the distance.

Walking along the stone pathways, you feel history beneath your feet. Centuries of footsteps have carved their way into the wall, and yet in this fleeting season, the permanence of stone meets the transience of autumn. The contrast between the enduring monument and the changing landscape creates powerful imagery that resonates deeply. Capturing the wall as it curves into the horizon against a backdrop of glowing forests allows photographers to bring together both cultural grandeur and the beauty of nature in a single frame.
